Installer and Partner FAQs
What accreditations do I need to become a Cucumber Eco installer partner?+
Installer partners must hold PAS 2030 certification, which is required for all government-funded energy efficiency installations. TrustMark registration is also required. Depending on the measures you install, specific MCS certification (for solar PV and heat pumps) and Gas Safe registration (for gas works) may also be needed. We review all accreditations as part of the onboarding process.
How does Cucumber Eco source leads and work for installer partners?+
Cucumber Eco manages the entire grant application and customer journey, from eligibility check to survey and approval. Once a project is approved and ready for installation, we allocate it to an appropriate partner in our network based on location, specialism, and capacity. Partners receive fully qualified, pre-approved jobs rather than having to source and manage leads themselves.
What types of measures does Cucumber Eco commission?+
We commission a wide range of energy efficiency measures including loft insulation, cavity wall insulation, internal wall insulation, solid wall insulation, air source heat pumps, solar PV and battery storage, high heat retention storage heaters, smart heating controls, first time central heating, triple glazing, and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR). The mix of measures depends on the scheme and the properties in our pipeline.
Is work commissioned through the Warm Homes Plan?+
Yes. The majority of our installer pipeline comes through the Warm Homes Plan and ECO4. All installations under these schemes must comply with the relevant scheme technical standards and be carried out by appropriately accredited installers. We manage compliance and documentation on behalf of our installer partners to minimise administrative burden.
How are installer partners paid?+
Payment terms are agreed during the partner onboarding process and are set out in the installer agreement. Payments are made upon satisfactory completion of works and receipt of required documentation including completion certificates, photographs, and updated EPCs where applicable. We aim to process payments promptly once all paperwork is received and verified.
What geographic areas does Cucumber Eco operate in?+
Cucumber Eco operates across England, Scotland, and Wales. We are actively expanding our installer network in all regions. If you operate in a specific region and have capacity to take on additional volume, we would like to hear from you. Regional coverage is a key factor in our partner selection and we prioritise areas where we have identified high levels of demand.
Can sub-contractors work under an existing installer partner?+
Sub-contracting arrangements may be permitted under certain conditions, but the lead installer partner remains fully responsible for compliance, quality, and documentation. All individuals carrying out works must hold the appropriate qualifications and any sub-contracting arrangements must be disclosed and approved as part of the partner agreement. Contact us to discuss specific arrangements.
What documentation is required after completing an installation?+
Required documentation typically includes completion certificates, MCS certificates (for solar and heat pumps), Gas Safe certificates (for gas works), photographic evidence of measures installed, updated EPC where applicable, and any scheme-specific handover documentation. Our project management team will provide a clear checklist for each installation type and support partners in meeting all requirements.
How do I apply to join the Cucumber Eco installer network?+
Contact us through the website or by telephone to register your interest. We will ask for details of your company, the measures you install, your accreditations, geographic coverage, and current capacity. We will then review your application and arrange an onboarding call if there is a good fit. The process is straightforward and we aim to complete onboarding quickly for qualified partners.
What support does Cucumber Eco provide to installer partners?+
We provide fully managed pre-approved jobs, scheme compliance guidance, documentation support, and a dedicated account management contact. Our team handles all direct customer communication before and during the grant application process, so installers can focus on completing high quality work. We also keep partners updated on scheme changes and new funding opportunities.
