Before You Get in Touch
How quickly will you respond to my enquiry?+
We aim to respond to all enquiries within one working day. For urgent enquiries, we recommend calling us directly. Our team is available Monday to Friday during normal office hours. We will confirm receipt of your enquiry and provide an initial eligibility indication as quickly as possible.
Is the initial consultation really free with no obligation?+
Yes, completely. Our initial eligibility check and consultation are entirely free. There is no commitment required, no hard sell, and no pressure to proceed. We provide honest advice about your options and only recommend work that we believe will genuinely benefit you. If you are not eligible, we will tell you clearly and suggest alternative routes.
What information should I have ready when I contact you?+
It is helpful to know your property's postcode, approximate age and type of property (detached, semi, terraced), current EPC rating if known, current heating system, and whether you or anyone in your household receives any means-tested benefits. You do not need all of this information to get started. We will guide you through the relevant questions during our initial conversation.
Do you visit properties before any work is agreed?+
Yes. Before any work is agreed or approved, a qualified energy assessor will visit your property to carry out a formal assessment. This is essential for identifying the most appropriate measures, confirming grant eligibility, and ensuring that any proposed improvements are technically suitable for your specific property. The property survey is free of charge.
I am a landlord. Can you assess multiple properties at once?+
Yes. We regularly work with landlords on portfolios of multiple properties. We can conduct a portfolio-wide compliance review, identifying which properties are most at risk of MEES non-compliance and which are eligible for grant funding. Contact us to arrange a portfolio discussion and we will agree the most efficient way to manage the process across your properties.
What happens if I am not eligible for a grant?+
If you do not qualify for grant funding, we will explain exactly why and suggest alternative options. These may include 0% interest finance through regulated lenders, self-funded improvements with guidance on the most cost-effective measures, or a timeline for re-assessing eligibility if your circumstances change. We never leave you without a clear path forward.
Do you operate outside of England?+
Yes. We operate across England, Scotland, and Wales. Grant scheme availability varies slightly by country. The Warm Homes Plan primarily covers England, while Scotland and Wales have equivalent schemes with different names and criteria. We will confirm the relevant scheme and eligibility rules for your specific address when you contact us.
Can I contact you if I am a letting agent or property manager?+
Absolutely. We work extensively with letting agents and property managers to help their landlord clients achieve MEES compliance and access grant funding. We can establish a referral partnership and provide a dedicated point of contact for your agency. Contact us to discuss how we can work together.
Will I be passed to a different company?+
The installation works are carried out by our network of accredited installer partners, but Cucumber Eco manages the entire process from your first contact to completion. You will have a dedicated point of contact at Cucumber Eco throughout. We coordinate all trades, handle all paperwork, and remain your single point of contact for any questions or concerns.
What should I expect after I submit the contact form?+
After submitting the form, you will receive an acknowledgement and a member of our team will contact you within one working day to discuss your enquiry. We will carry out an initial eligibility assessment during this call, and if appropriate, arrange a free property survey. You are under no obligation to proceed at any stage and we will always explain each next step clearly before we take it.
